Brooke Charter High School is looking to build a new 95,000-square-foot building in Mattapan and move out of its cramped temporary South Boston site by August 2018, according to project plans.
The new building would house about 780 students in grades 8 to 12 and include classroom space, a gymnasium, cafeteria, auditorium, administrative spaces and other support spaces, according to design plans submitted to the Boston Planning & Development Agency. It would also include an outdoor garden area, about 60 off-street parking spots and a loading area.
The new building would be located at American Legion Highway and Kingbird Road in Mattapan, across from the Brooke School’s existing Mattapan location. It would replace the existing 15,000-square-foot space on Elkins Street.
