The Quincy City Council has approved a measure crucial to a mixed-use development project in North Quincy and separately is considering selling land for an unrelated real estate development in the downtown.
The proposed sale of land for a 15-story residential tower in Quincy Center will be debated during a committee meeting at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 9.
The council, meanwhile, voted 8-0 to approve a lease of air rights above the North Quincy MBTA station for the project that will feature apartments, retail space, and parking.
The city owns the air rights, and the MBTA would lease them for the project, which is being developed by North Quincy Partners LLC. The city’s Planning Board will review project plans once they are submitted.
