QUINCY – Should Louis Cafe in Houghs Neck be allowed to sell its parking lot, potentially for development?

A community meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 16, to give residents a chance to express their opinions on the question.

The meeting was scheduled by Ward 1 Councilor Margaret Laforest. It will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the Houghs Neck Congregational Church, 300 Manet Ave.
Robert Galligan, the century-old cafe’s owner, wants the city to allow the cafe and the parking lot to have different owners.

Galligan is being represented by local attorney Christopher Harrington, who could not be reached for comment Thursday afternoon.

Galligan is seeking approval from the city’s zoning board of appeals. The board is scheduled to discuss the parking lot when it meets at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at old city hall.
