The Minuteman School Building Committee has selected Rhode Island-based Gilbane Building Co. as construction manager for its new vocational-technical high school in Lincoln, which will replace the existing Lexington building.
Construction is expected to start this spring and be completed in time for the start of the 2019-2020 school year, a full year ahead of previous estimates, according to a news release issued by school officials.
The project is expected to cost $144.9 million, with the state paying about $44 million. The balance will be paid by member towns through annual capital assessments and by nonmember towns that send students to Minuteman through revenue generated by a new state-imposed “capital fee.’’
