Skanska USA Commercial Development on Monday submitted detailed plans to the city of Boston for its proposed office building in the city’s Marine Industrial Park, a project the development firm first received tentative approval to build last May.
Skanska has proposed a 13-story office building with ground-floor retail on Parcel Q1, a triangular parcel located off Drydock Avenue adjacent to the marine industrial park’s entrance off Summer Street. Parcel Q1 is also adjacent to Parcel A, where Wellesley-based Harbinger Development is planning a 411-room Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites. Parcels Q1 and A are the only two parcels in the 191-acre Raymond L. Flynn Marine Park not restricted to maritime or industrial uses.
Skanska’s detailed proposal for Parcel Q1, which it filed Monday with the Boston Redevelopment Authority, outlines plans for a 298,700-square-foot building, encompassing 211,700 square feet of office space sitting atop three levels of parking spaces and 8,400 square feet of ground-floor retail/lobby space. The project reaches 163 feet in height.
