L.L. Bean expanding to Boston with first urban store outside Maine

L.L. Bean will establish its first urban location outside Maine — in the city of Boston — in November. But it won’t be a typical retail store.

The Maine-based retailer will open a kiosk in the Shops at Prudential Center just in time for the holiday season, L.L. Bean spokesman Mac McKeever told the

McKeever said said the Prudential Center “made terrific sense for us. We know that we have a large and strong customer base in the Boston area, as well as Massachusetts in general that not only has a high-degree of awareness about L.L.Bean, but a high-level of brand affinity as well. In addition, the Prudential Center is a major hub for all forms of activities and pedestrian traffic.”
