BEVERLY — The Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Home is planning a $2.6 million renovation.

The building, located next to Beverly Hospital on Herrick Street, was built in 1985 and needs repairs to improve “ongoing deterioration of the building envelope,” according to a filing with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

Ledgewood is a 123-bed for-profit nursing home owned by Lahey Health System and Kindred Healthcare. It offers physical, occupational and speech therapy as well as specialized rehabilitation programs in areas such as cardiology and pulmonology.

Officials are planning to repair the outside of the building, upgrade the electrical system, replace the heating and air-conditioning system, and install new windows, gutters and trim, according to its filing with the state.
