QUINCY – A neighborhood meeting is scheduled for next week to introduce Adams Shore residents to the plan to build nine condominiums on Mill Street.

Quincy Ward 1 councilor Margaret Laforest, who represents the area, has a community meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday at the South Grove Manor at 288 Washington St. with the proposed developers of the project.

Developer Derrick Fitzgerald of Marion Group is proposing to tear down the single-family home at 27 Mill St. and build nine townhouse-style condos in its place. They would be 2 1/2 to three stories tall, and each would have a two-car garage underneath of them, Laforest said.

She said this is the first time this project is coming before the public, so she hasn’t heard much either way about it from residents, as people don’t know about it yet.

“We’ll be seeing what the project is,” Laforest said.
