The Service Employees International Union and Partners HealthCare reached an agreement that will allow the union to organize at a Partners hospital in Jamaica Plain.
The pact allows for a union election at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, where the SEIU hopes to sign up about 500 workers.
“We have developed an agreement with Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital that outlines a free and fair elections process and offers service workers in specific units of the hospital’s workforce the opportunity to vote for or against joining our union,” Tyrék D. Lee Sr., executive vice president of the SEIU’s local 1199, said Tuesday in a statement.
